Reference standard

Our reference is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. The site is partially conformant: it meets many requirements, but not all, and it has not been audited in full by external experts.

What we check

Every time the site changes, automated checks (axe) verify these rules:

• form fields, buttons and links have a name screen readers can read;
• text has enough contrast against its background;
• headings follow a correct order;
• ARIA attributes have valid values and allowed roles;
• nothing that can be reached with the keyboard is hidden from screen readers;
• on the product page, touch targets are large enough.

The pages checked are the home page, a collection, product pages, About us, the cart, event pages, the site language notice and this page, in light and dark mode, on desktop and on phones. We also check that the filter panel on phones closes with the Esc key and returns focus to the button that opened it.

Automated checks do not find every problem: some things can only be checked by hand.

Known limitations

• In the search results, the orange label of the active filters has too little contrast. A fix is in progress.
• In light mode, the outline that shows the element selected with the keyboard is light purple and hard to see on a white background.
• In light mode, the example text inside form fields is light grey and hard to read; the labels above the fields are easy to read.

Third-party content

Payment takes place on Shopify's checkout, which we do not run ourselves: its accessibility depends on Shopify.
