AOMANJU VOL.1

There is a house-inn in the middle of the forest, and an affable and kind boy will welcome you if you pass by. Except that the house is invisible to the eyes of normal people, and its guests are all, in one way or another, spirits. And what is that boy looking for, willing—nay, eager—to help anyone he meets? Iwaoka Hisae tells a story removed by a few steps from modern metropolitan daily life, but imbued with poetry and tenderness, as well as depth in its analysis of the soul. If the chicken that regrets having grown up, because it believes that if it had remained a chick it wouldn't have been abandoned by its humans, doesn't move you, well, you are stronger than we are.
