The cancer-stricken mercenary, transformed into an almost immortal being capable of regenerating from any wound, is finally enjoying life with his partner Vanessa. But by irresponsibly accepting hitman missions all over the world, as is his style, one ends up making enemies, and the time soon comes for Deadpool to pay the price. A beating so severe that he finds himself at the X-Men's home, with Colossus once again giving him the chance to be a hero and taking him along on a mission to calm a very young and powerful mutant. Predictably, things do not end well and Deadpool finds himself in trouble along with the kid, to whom he is growing so attached that, when a lethal warrior determined to kill him arrives from the future, the talkative ex-mercenary will do everything possible to protect the young boy.
