CHILDREN OF THE EMPIRE VOL.1

Korea, 1929. Young Jun Seomoon, heir to a noble house that lost its prestige following the country's occupation by Japan, finds work at the residence of a wealthy merchant, where he meets Arisa Jo, the family's scion. He has been shaped by an antiquated culture. She, with her gaze turned toward "modern" European customs, has a fiercely avant-garde spirit. He should have been a nobleman but lives in poverty. She, who spends her days in comfort and idleness, has parvenu origins. Yet, between these two young people who are so distant, and who embody the internal conflicts of Korea itself during that period, an enigmatic bond is born. Will it be friendship, complicity, or love? What future awaits them and their country?
