INITIAL D VOL.17

Takumi Fujiwara, an indolent and sleepy-looking high school student, spends a lot of time behind the wheel. Every morning, he delivers tofu for his father's shop, navigating the treacherous roads of Mount Akina in his Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86. Day after day, without even realizing it, Takumi has absorbed racing techniques that most drivers take a lifetime to learn, yet he has no particular interest in the world of cars. However, his friendship with classmate Itsuki Takeuchi draws him into a passion for illegal street racing, and Takumi finally seems to wake from the lethargy of a life without gasoline. A mysterious and phenomenal new driver thus bursts into the local street racing scene: the legend of the "Ghost of Akina" begins, and the racing world will never be the same!
