INITIAL D VOL. 8

Takumi Fujiwara, a lethargic and sleepy-looking high school student, spends a lot of time behind the wheel. Every morning, he delivers tofu for his father's shop, driving his Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 up the treacherous roads of Mount Akina. Day after day, without even realizing it, Takumi has absorbed driving techniques that most racers take a lifetime to learn, yet he has no particular interest in the world of cars. However, his friendship with classmate Itsuki Takeuchi draws him into a passion for illegal street racing, and Takumi finally seems to wake from the torpor of a life without gasoline. A mysterious and phenomenal new driver thus bursts onto the local street racing scene: the legend of the "Ghost of Akina" begins, and the world of racing will never be the same!
