IOGIOCO 14 - MAGAZINE

In the midst of the holiday season, issue 14 of ioGioco has arrived! As always, it is packed with reviews, dossiers, news, and special content—all ready to play!
What kind of Christmas would it be without Cthulhu?
In this joyful and exquisitely playful atmosphere, who could we choose to be the bearer of our playful message but the most beloved and terrifying Great Old One of all? The wonderful Great Cthulhu from Death May Die reigns supreme on our cover and announces a special feature entirely dedicated to board games inspired by the creations of the recluse from Providence: H. P. Lovecraft.
Two complete games printed on cardstock!
In our unmissable insert, you will find 2 games to cut out and try!
UNDO is the latest novelty in the field of investigative games brought to Italy by dV Giochi. This title stands out for a new approach to the genre: the protagonists, called "Weavers of Destiny," can alter the past to prevent the death they are investigating from occurring. Thanks to our collaboration with dV Giochi, you will find a complete UNDO case, “Shipwrecked Hopes,” to try your hand at changing fate and saving a life.
Under Falling Skies is a game we have been keeping an eye on for some time. This title by Tomas Uhlir has won several online game design competitions and has already been optioned by Czech Games for a new edition scheduled for 2020. In the meantime, in agreement with its author, we invite you to try this simulation of an alien invasion (and the Earth's resistance) in just 8 cards! Grab some dice, a few tokens, and have fun.
Lots of playable content within the pages of the magazine
There is never a shortage of original playable content for our roleplayer readers. Since this issue features a dossier on steampunk-themed roleplaying games, Gear Games has created a complete adventure for us for Vulcania, the all-Italian steampunk roleplaying game that has just hit the shelves and is reviewed in our pages. Ready for an adventurous journey with “The Sculptor”? And there is no shortage of variants for board games, such as those for Stuffed Fables, and a valuable additional aid like the table for tracking Influence in Time of Crisis.
The year-end rankings are back!
In addition to the many reviews, news, and deep dives, we are closing out the last issue of this year by sharing with you our usual rankings of the titles that impressed us the most in the vast selection of 2019. Between one game and the next, enjoy our recommendations and let us know what you think.
