Tsuneo is a university student, and Josee—who uses this fictional name inspired by the protagonist of her favorite book—is a young girl who rarely leaves the house alone due to her inability to walk caused by cerebral palsy. The two meet by chance when Tsuneo, walking through the city, saves Josee from a fatal accident. By befriending the girl and her grandmother, Tsuneo slowly manages to find his way into her life, succeeding in breaking down the walls within which she had locked herself.
