In the title story of the collection, a young middle school student, Ryusuke, finally
returns to the town of his childhood, after long wanderings due to his father's work. The joy
of rediscovering his old friendships is soon mixed, however, with a feeling of anguish. Ryusuke's
return, in fact, has coincided with the start of strange and inexplicable phenomena concerning the
craze of the moment, “The Intersection Fortune-Teller.” The game consists of asking a question about the future to the
first stranger you cross paths with on a day of thick fog, but, one question after another, it is turning more and more into a waking nightmare… Could the terrible past that Ryusuke
has tried to hide for years have something to do with it?
