LUNATIC LOVERS - REGULAR

Seven stories, seven descents into the disturbing heart of the human soul. In Lunatic Lovers, Suehiro Maruo – undisputed master of Japanese ero-guro – constructs a perverse and fascinating universe, where eroticism intertwines with the grotesque and the everyday is distorted into vision. Amidst haunted houses, mutant bodies, religious obsessions, and ghosts of war, each story is a little theater of horror that unhinges the rules of reality and allows the darkest sides of the human being to emerge. With an elegant, almost classic line and a cruel yet refined narrative, Maruo brings to life a disturbing and hypnotic world, where nothing is as it seems and every page is a bite into the unconscious. Published for the first time in Japan in 1997 and already appreciated in France, Lunatic Lovers finally arrives in Italy in a new complete edition. A visionary and disturbing work, perfect for those who love uncompromising auteur comics, decadent literature, and fever-dream atmospheres.
