In the mountains around Bolzano, someone pushes a little girl off a cliff. Ten years later, on the Tyrrhenian coast, the body of a drowned child is discovered. Meanwhile, a pretentious and maladjusted boy, obsessed with extraterrestrials and the idea of compiling a dictionary that goes beyond language, lounges with his parents at a luxury beach club. He becomes infatuated with a teenager, challenges brats to ping-pong, and fantasizes about the future success of his work. During a party at his wealthy aunt and uncle’s, his fixations sharpen, driving him to flee with three friends toward the opposite coast. Amid dreams of great erotic exploits, asylums, alien contacts, and prostitutes' apartments, he will finally have to confront the most horrific of his own secrets.
