MR. NOBODY 1

For as long as he can remember, Susumu Kawai has been plagued by distorted nightmares of events that seem far removed from his everyday life. One day, he receives a phone call from an unknown voice identifying himself as Mr. Nobody, who invites him to the former Soviet Union, promising him the truth behind his obsessions. Determined to get to the bottom of it, Susumu accepts; upon arriving at a small, remote motel in Russia, he discovers he is not alone, but that he must share a journey with five others, guided only by cryptic, progressive instructions. These will force them to share a common destiny despite being total strangers, completely unprepared for what lies ahead. Gou Tanabe presents a cinematic noir thriller characterized by a pace and suspense that will not disappoint fans of Naoki Urasawa’s Monster and the anxiety-inducing narrative style of Atsushi Kaneko’s Wet Moon.
