Yuuki Uehara is a high school student with a big goal: to become a mangaka! However, his first pitch to a publishing house, a romantic comedy, is rejected by an editor who deems it too unrealistic. Just when he is on the verge of giving up on his dream, his manuscript falls into the hands of Niina Miyamoto, a flamboyant gyaru in his class. The girl, also an aspiring manga artist, reveals that she received similar feedback from an editor and proposes an idea to Yuuki: to gain the experience necessary to write an effective rom-com, the two should... start a fake romantic relationship!
