Sole a catinelle

"If you get straight A's, Dad will give you a dream vacation." This is the promise Checco makes to his son Nicolò. So far, so good. The problem is that Checco, a vacuum cleaner salesman whose sales and marriage are both in crisis, can't even afford to take his son for a day at the beach, yet when Nicolò brings home a perfect report card, the promise must be kept. Luckily, Checco is never short on optimism. Setting off with the dashed hope of selling a few vacuum cleaners to his relatives in Molise, he ends up at the home of Zoe, an extremely wealthy woman who has a son the same age as Nicolò. A friendship blossoms between the two boys, and Zoe "adopts" Checco and Nicolò, bringing them into her world: invitations to exclusive parties, dips in magnificent pools, as well as yachts, horses, golf courses, and evenings in Portofino. And naturally, Checco will overwhelm the composed—and ultimately hypocritical—style of this world with his infectious charm and innocent audacity.
