ASSASSINATION TECHNIQUES THROUGH THE CENTURIES

Provocative in its themes and surprising in its graphics, Shintaro Kago is the new master of the most extreme manga. An author who, thanks above all to an irony that stops at nothing, is managing to bring the caricatured violence of the “ero guro” genre to an ever wider audience. Assassination Techniques Through the Ages links back to the experimental fury of his first great Italian success, the collection of stories with the miles-long title Can an Accidental Collision on the Way to School Result in a Kiss? Even in the eleven stories that make up this book, sex and violence are pushed beyond the boundaries of the absurd (murderous appliance-men, cannibal high schoolers) to give shape to a catalog of paradoxical tortures that hide a ruthless satire of contemporary society.
