At the turn of the 16th century, King Manuel I commissioned the greatest Portuguese artisans to build some magnificent buildings. After completing the palaces of Evora and Sintra, the king sought to have a summer pavilion built to honor the most celebrated members of the royal family. This building was intended for the most talented artisans, whose skills reflected the splendor deserved by such important figures. Unfortunately, the king died before construction could begin. In Azul – Summer Pavilion, you will return to Portugal to complete the prestigious task that never began. As master artisans, you must use the finest materials to bring the summer pavilion to life, while carefully avoiding wasting your resources. Only the best will be up to the challenge and honor the Portuguese royal family. Summer Pavilion will allow you to breathe in the atmosphere of the characteristic Moorish-inspired decorations once again. In this new iteration, players must tile the floor of King Manuel I’s summer pavilion. A title that features the addition of new mechanisms based on set collection and the reproduction of various patterns. The main difference compared to Azul is the particular shape of its tiles: rhombuses. These elongated quadrilaterals will form 6-pointed stars that will bring the floor mosaic to life. Each game lasts six rounds (for an average of about 30–45 minutes), during which players must draft the various tiles and place them on their game board, trying not to waste them as they fill all the spaces at their disposal in order to earn the most points and win the game.
