Tom Clancy's EndWar is a turn-based strategy game in the same vein as Advanced Wars. The war scenario, inspired by Tom Clancy, is that of a hypothetical Third World War in the mid-21st century involving the United States of America, the new European Federation, and Russia across three different areas of the world (Europe, the Bering Strait, and the Black Sea region).
Players can choose between campaign and battle modes. In the latter, it is possible to challenge the artificial intelligence or another player. Furthermore, the title allows players to create up to 32 custom maps and share them with other users.
The events begin after a major global oil crisis. The demand for oil increases to such an extent that conflict becomes inevitable. Russia initiates hostilities by attempting to invade Alaska, while the rivalry between Europe and the United States erupts into armed conflict. The campaign begins on the European continent, specifically in the metropolis of London.
Once the player demonstrates the ability to command the various types of troops, the story continues in the Bering Strait between Alaska and Siberia. Finally, the player will be able to tackle the last twelve missions set in the Black Sea region.
