Life, Death, Elan, Calm, and Gold are the essences that fuel the art of magic in this dark world. Choose your mage, gather essences, forge unique artifacts, and use them to summon dragons, conquer places of power, and achieve victory!
In Res Arcana, 2 to 4 alchemical mages fight to gain control of ancient monuments and places of power. Mages use their essences and magical items to build artifacts, activate their powers, and command dragons. The mage with the most points wins!
Each mage starts with 1 essence of each type, 3 artifacts in hand, and 1 magical item.
During a round, players will collect essences and then perform 1 action per turn, until everyone has passed.
The goal is to possess the most points, 10 or more, when victory is checked.
A card game that is quite simple in its rules but possesses strategic depth. Few tools available that must be managed as best as possible throughout the game. Short for this type of game. High replayability.
